Berashet

Berashet is the first word in the Bible, meaning “In the beginning.” This short film tells the story of an artist and his creations.

Originally, Berashet was conceived as the first of a series of short films that could be used by churches in their services. Plans are underway to continue the series in the near future.

Filmed in Collegedale, TN, production took place over two days. To achieve the correct mud effects on the actors, a special mixture of pottery slip was used. While not harmful, the actors quickly became incredibly cold once they were covered in the mud, despite the 90+ degree temperatures of the day.
